Depending on your relationship with Find Handmade, we may collect the following information:

Images, photographs, logos and other brand assets that you provide to us after joining a cohort

We aim to collect only information that is reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
3. How we collect business contact information
We may identify and research potential handmade businesses that may be suitable for a particular Find Handmade cohort.
We may obtain business contact information from:
Directly from the business
A business's own website
Google and other search engines
Other publicly available business or social media information
A Find Handmade landing page where a business owner voluntarily provides their information
Other publicly available sources where it is fair and lawful to do so
The information we may collect includes the business name, website address, business email address and the name of a relevant business contact where publicly available or provided directly.
Where we obtain personal information from a publicly available source rather than directly from you, we will handle that information in accordance with applicable UK data protection law and direct-marketing requirements.
The fact that business information is publicly available does not automatically mean that it can be used for direct marketing without restriction.
4. How we collect information from businesses interested in Find Handmade
We may use Find Handmade landing pages designed for handmade businesses to collect contact information from businesses that are interested in hearing from us.
Where you voluntarily submit your information through such a landing page, we may collect your:
Name
Business name
Business email address
Business website address
We may then use this information to contact you about Find Handmade, including potential participation in a relevant cohort and other Find Handmade services where permitted by law.
5. How we use your information
We may use business contact information to:
Identify businesses that may be suitable for a particular Find Handmade cohort
Contact businesses about potential participation in a cohort
Respond to enquiries and expressions of interest
Send information about Find Handmade services and relevant cohorts
Manage applications and invitations to join a cohort
Communicate with businesses before, during and after their participation in a cohort
Set up and administer a cohort membership
Provide the services included within a cohort
Create marketing materials relating to participating businesses and their products
Create and manage cohort landing pages
Deliver email marketing campaigns associated with the relevant cohort
Process payments and invoices
Maintain business and financial records
Monitor and improve our services and marketing activities
Meet our legal and regulatory obligations
Where we use publicly available business contact information for direct marketing, we will consider the applicable requirements of UK data protection law and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR). The rules can differ depending on whether the recipient is an individual/sole trader or a corporate subscriber.
6. Direct marketing to businesses
Find Handmade may contact businesses about relevant cohorts and Find Handmade services.
The rules governing direct marketing depend on the legal status of the business and whether the contact information identifies an individual.
Limited companies and other corporate subscribers
Where we are contacting a corporate subscriber, such as a limited company, the consent requirement for direct marketing by email under PECR generally does not apply.
We may therefore send appropriate business-to-business marketing emails to corporate subscribers, provided that we:
Clearly identify Find Handmade as the sender
Provide a valid means of opting out
Respect any request not to receive further marketing
Comply with UK GDPR where the information we hold is personal data relating to an identifiable individual
Sole traders and certain partnerships
Sole traders and certain types of partnerships are treated as individual subscribers under PECR.
Find Handmade will therefore only send direct marketing emails to these contacts where we have the required consent, unless a lawful soft opt-in applies.
Where a sole trader voluntarily submits their contact information through a Find Handmade landing page for the purpose of receiving information or marketing from Find Handmade, we will make the purpose of the sign-up clear at the point of collection and obtain the appropriate consent where required.
We will not rely solely on the fact that a sole trader's email address or other contact information is publicly available as permission to send marketing emails.
Personal contacts within limited companies
Where we contact an identifiable individual working for a limited company, such as a director or employee, UK GDPR may apply to the personal information we process about that person.
We will therefore ensure that we have an appropriate lawful basis for processing the personal data, provide appropriate privacy information and respect the individual's right to object to direct marketing.
Opting out
Every direct marketing email sent by Find Handmade will clearly identify us and provide a simple way to opt out of further marketing.
We will maintain appropriate records of objections and unsubscribes and will take reasonable steps to ensure that businesses and individuals who have opted out are not subsequently added back into our marketing communications.
You have the right to object to direct marketing at any time. Where you object, we will stop using your personal information for direct marketing purposes, except where limited processing is necessary to record and respect your objection.
7. Information collected when you become a paying cohort member
When you have been invited to join a specific Find Handmade cohort and choose to proceed, we will collect the information needed to administer your membership.
We use Stripe (www.stripe.com) to process payments. We may issue invoices through Stripe for payment of Find Handmade cohort fees.
We do not intend to store your full payment card details ourselves. Payment information is processed through Stripe in accordance with Stripe's own terms and privacy documentation.
We may retain information such as your payment status, transaction information and billing records where necessary for the administration of your membership and our legal, accounting or tax obligations.
8. Onboarding information

As part of your participation in a Find Handmade cohort, you may provide information about your business, products, values and brand.

14. Your information and other cohort members
Find Handmade may share appropriate business information with other members of the same cohort where this is necessary to operate the cohort or promote participating businesses.
We will not share your private personal contact information with other cohort members for their own independent marketing purposes unless there is an appropriate lawful basis for doing so.
15. How long we keep your information
We will retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected.
Different categories of information may be retained for different periods.
